Ride along the river, cross the Dordogne by ferry, gaze up at the castles... a day of cycling in the gentle summer air, perfect for getting away from it all.
The MORNING
It's up to you to choose your starting point on the greenway. You can start the day with a visit to the Carsac Water Gardens, ideal for gently getting moving among the ponds, water lilies, and other aquatic plants. Another option: Carlux, where the Robert Doisneau Station offers an introduction to art and heritage before you hop on your bike. Whichever you choose, the first few miles are unhurried, along the valley, giving you time to settle into the rhythm of the ride.
MIDI
At lunchtime, you naturally slow down. You park your bike for a picnic on the banks of the Dordogne, in a setting conducive to relaxation. Then comes one of the highlights of the day: in summer, you cross the river on the ferry. A simple and authentic passage, as in days gone by, where the Dordogne becomes the link between the two banks and gives the lunch break a taste of escape.
AFTERNOON
Once you reach the other side, continue along the road towards Sainte-Mondane. The journey continues along peaceful little roads, between open landscapes and more rugged terrain. Gradually, the Château de Fénelon comes into view, dominating the valley. The visit allows you to end the afternoon on a strong heritage note, with superb views to boot.
TO FINISH

For the return journey, once again, you have a choice. You can return to Carsac-Aillac via the bridge at Groléjac or return to Carlux via the bridge at Saint-Julien-de-Lampon.
