MORNING
It's up to you to choose your starting point on the greenway. You can start the day with a visit to the Carsac Water Gardens, ideal for getting gently moving among the ponds, water lilies, and other aquatic plants. Another option is Carlux, where the Robert Doisneau Station offers an introduction to art and heritage before you get on your bike. Whichever you choose, the first few miles are unhurried, along the valley, giving you time to settle into the rhythm of the ride.
MIDI
At lunchtime, you naturally slow down. You park your bike for a picnic on the banks of the Dordogne, in a setting that is perfect for relaxation. Then comes one of the highlights of the day: in summer, you cross the river on the ferry. A simple and authentic passage, as in days gone by, where the Dordogne becomes the link between the two banks and gives the lunch break a taste of escape.
AFTERNOON
Once on the other side, you continue on the road towards Sainte-Mondane. The walk continues along peaceful little roads, between open landscapes and more rugged terrain. Gradually, the Château de Fénelon comes into view, dominating the valley. The visit allows you to end the afternoon on a strong heritage note, with superb views to boot.
TO FINISH
For the return trip, again, you have a choice. You can return to Carsac via the Groléjac bridge or return to Carlux via the Saint-Julien-de-Lampon bridge.
